EMX Industries RADAR PRESENCE DETECTION SENSOR
The EMX MRD-1P Radar Presence Detection Sensor is a single-sided safety sensor primarily intended for use with barrier arm operators. It uses RADAR technology to detect people and vehicles in the path of the arm, with no need for additional equipment on the other side of the lane. Upon detection, the sensor activates a Presence relay used to prevent the arm from lowering and/or to reverse the arm.
Because it relies on a microwave beam, the MRD-1P is unaffected by rain, snow, ice, fog and sunlight, making it a dependable choice for outdoor access-control installations. The detection distance is user-programmable up to a maximum of 30 ft (9.1m), and the sensor ignores objects outside the programmed range. The detection field projects forward in a conical pattern from the sensor face, expanding proportionally with distance.
A 3-digit display provides a simple interface to set the detection distance and configure additional features such as Pulse On Exit and Fail Safe/Secure. The ball and socket bracket allows versatile positioning, while the detachable screw terminal block and ½ inch conduit connection support reliable, straightforward wiring.
