GENIE 3850R works very well with my GENIE receiver #315390R2 that I have operating an old Chamberlin opener.
The receiver was not included in the installation instructions but they were the same as the first (A) instructions you sent.
You probably know all this but just in case not I thought I would comment anyway.

Ordered a gear kit to fix my garage opener, as the top sprocket had broken off. The item shipped quickly and was packaged well. Installation instructions were informative but I did not end up following them very closely. The part itself looked to be of OEM quality, if not better, and is holding up well so far (2 weeks after the install).
