Alarm Lock AIR ACCESS SIGNAL METER

The AIR ACCESS SIGNAL METER (AL-NSM) by Alarm Lock is a portable, battery-powered site-survey tool for wireless Networx access-control systems. It performs signal-strength and diagnostic testing to help installers find the optimum placement of Networx Gateways relative to Networx locks, and to determine the number of Gateways needed to cover the planned lock locations.

Using its selectable modes, the unit measures received signal strength (in DL-Windows/CA3000 units or in dBm), gauges background radio noise levels, calculates overall signal quality, discovers Networx locks not yet assigned to Gateways, and can send a "locate" signal that causes unassigned locks to beep. It operates on its own, with DL-Windows (version 5.0 and later) and a Networx Gateway (version 3.91 and later) via the "Gateway Signal Test Mode" feature, or together with the companion AL-NSG Networx Signal Generator.

Typical use cases include determining where to mount a Gateway for sufficient coverage, verifying that a chosen Gateway location will reach proposed lock locations, confirming that newly added locks will be in range of existing Gateways, and troubleshooting wireless connectivity issues on an existing system by checking signal quality, missed packets, and noise levels.

• Powered by a 9V battery; powers on with the left SELECT button and auto-shuts off after 20 minutes
