WHEN TO INSTALL A REPEATER KIT:
All 2006 and Older vehicles require a repeater kit installation which must be purchased by the homeowner.
All 2007 and Newer vehicles – Perform regular HomeLink installation per vehicle instructions. If after ONE complete attempt at installation, the HomeLink does not program with opener, install a repeater. (To program the HomeLink Repeater Kit, refer to the instructions provided in the kit or visit: homelink.com/program/vehicle)
INSTALLATION QUICK FACTS:
1. Install ONE repeater per HOME
2. Use different HomeLink buttons in vehicle if programming multiple cars, button 1 first car, button 2 second car, etc.
3. HomeLink remote is NOT to be used as a garage door opener remote control
Battery Backup Feature Information:
If you are using this repeater with a garage door opener that has Battery Backup be sure that your original garage door opener remote control is programmed to the garage door opener and then place it in your glove box for use in the event of a power outage.

FlawlessInstalled it today. I have a 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis with Home link. Installed brand new Craftsman Belt Drive openers with WI-FI. 3 very Very nice openers. I was able to get all 3 homelink buttons programmed very easily. I was surprised that my seperate outbuilding with one of the garage door openers was easily programmed 100 feet from the house garage. So the repeater has great range on it! Older cars were the the homelink that doesn't work with the new garage door openers, THIS WILL REMEDY THE PROBLEM. And yes, you can program your 3 buttons to work with 3 different opener.

No info for clearing previous code.Found out I needed to uninstall the previous code by pressing the 1 and 3 button on my 2001 vehicle before I entered the new code. Thanks to the installer of my new garage opener for walking me through the steps.

PositiveAfter having a LiftMaster door opener installed in my new garage/shop, I soon realized that the HomeLink system in our '02 TrailBlazer would not synchronize with the new opener. I researched the pairing issue relating to my new door opener and discovered that I needed to install a bridge (repeater) to update to the current wireless control signal encoding. I ordered it, installed it, paired it, and it works as advertised. Fast ship, great price, and easy install -- pretty much Plug & Play!

Solved homelinks issueKnew from garage door opener install man that I would need this device to interface with the Homelinks system. Was cheaper to buy online and intall myself. It did take clearing the old Homelinks codes in my vehicle before it worked, but now works very well. A little bummed that they dropped the price $5 after I had already bought it.

Great deviceAfter installing my Chamberlain garage door opener I soon realized that the Homelink system in my 09 Taurus X and our 07 Subaru Forester would not synchronize with the new opener. A bit troublesomeI managed to program this unit to work with my 2007 Acura MDX with just 15 minutes or so of effort. Within two days it quit working. This evening I reprogrammed the unit and it works again. Time will tell what happens next.

Good but not greatNot sure why a 2012 Toyota Venza with Homelink would even need this product but I guess I can blame Liftmaster for this technology change. Fairly easy to install and program (less than 30 minutes) but disappointed with the range. I have to be right in front of my garage door for this repeater to work while the standard remote control works 100 feet away. Any comments on the poor distance restrictions would be appreciated.

Good price, arrived quickly, does the job.Good price, arrived quickly, does the job. Not much more to say, as it's a very simple unit. Slightly more range would be nice, but it's adequate. One thing to be aware of is that, on my vehicle at least, one needs to press and hold the button for about two seconds. Once we figured that out, we were a lot happier with the unit. There is an LED on the unit that continually flickers randomly. There is no mention of the LED in the instructions so I called customer service who said that the flickering was normal operation.

BMW Garage Door Opener Finally Works!I have been waiting for years to get my BMW factory-installed garage door opener to work, and now it finally does! Worked As AdvertisedThe unit was delivered in great shape and sooner than promised. Took less than a half hour from start to finish. Easy to set up. 2004 MDX home link now works. Was not clear on if the programming remote that comes with the unit needs a battery installed. I figured out it does not after I could not figure out how to open the unit to put in the battery. Great Price.

Easy-peasy, perfectTook all of two minutes to program and activate. Used to link the Homelink in a 2011 Infiniti EX35. Used the same outlet in the garage ceiling the garage door is plugged into so didn't take up a wall outlet.

Easy to Install Works GreatYou can whine about having to purchase one of these because old vehicle home link isn't compatible with newer garage door openers, but technology marches on and security has improved. This is an easy solution. Cheaper than buying straight from Chamberlain. Chamberlain had exorbitant shipping charges. One of these per opener and multiple old vehicle home link systems work again.

Work GreatPurchased a Chamberlain 1 1/4 Belt drive garage door opener with my Q technology. Unfortunately the home link transmitter in a 2007 Lincoln MKZ didn't work with the new opener. Luckily read the reviews of others and placed the unit near the wall where the garage door itself is located. Did have to extend the antenna about10 feet over & up the wall with doorbell wire and was able to tfinally program the Lincoln's transmitter to the new door opener. Shipping was really fast and price very reasonable. My only complaint is that at this price point Chamberlain should have included this technology with this particular opener. This oversight is not related in any way of course to Preffered Doors only to Chamberlain itself.

Solved the problemOur vehicles weren't recent enough to work with the new receiver technology. This repeater was a simple and compact solution. I plugged it in next to the garage door opener, reprogrammed the buttons in our vehicles, and now they work with the new garage door opener.

Jeep now can get in2001 Jeep could not operate with new opener. It necessitated spending $28 additional to get this translator. Seems like Chamberlain could have offered this as an option on original purchase. It works, but just an additional bother to set up.

Works but tricked meI was trying to program the opener to work with the included remote instead of programming the vehicle and using it. For whatever reason it was not apparently designed to use the remote to operate the door just to program others.

Solved a ProblemMy vehicle was equipped with homelink, but it was not compatible with my new garage door opener. This homelink repeater solved the issue. It was easy to install (took less than a minute). Once I had the repeater installed, I had the homelink on my vehicle configured in about 5 minutes.

Great fix for my old car new openerEasy to install. I watched the U tube video and had it working in a few minutes. Plugged it in to the ceiling outlet next to the opener and it has as good of range or better than my old opener. About 200 feet (three houses down) using my 2005 Toyota Avalon integrated Home Link opener. Not near as far using the hand held remote, as expected.

2 seconds is what it takesI was happy to get the product at a great price. I did review the product prior to purchase, and took the advice of the people who found the major issues before I had to. Knowing ahead of time that I had to place the receiver as close to the garage door (and not the motor) was very helpful. The only issue I found was the antenna wire being too short. A quick addition of an extension wire was all I needed to complete the best connection possible. I placed the receiver at the garage door (just above the door), and hung the wire straight down the front (top) of the door. This allowed the wire to be at the very front of the garage door and in the best position to receive the signal from the car. When I checked the reception from the car, I found the signal was just about as good as the original signal from the car (with just a short delay for the relay.) The best distance I could get was around 200 feet. This was around the exact distance from which I could see the garage door and then push the car transmitter button. It took 2 seconds from button push to the activation of the door. More then enough time for the garage door to open completely before needing to drive into the garage without stopping.

Just what the doctor orderedHad to replace my almost 40 year old garage door opener - gears just gave out. Was not really surprised that my 17 year old "old" car couldn't communicate with the new opener, but was taken aback that my "new" 9 year old car was also incapable of talking to the new opener, despite some contradictory info on the web. But this "compatibility bridge" arrived VERY quickly, set up in minutes, and put me right back to where I was before the old opener went defunct.
Nobody wants to buy an accessory to make their new opener actually work, but this was relatively painless in both price and effort, and considerably cheaper than replacing the cars.Posted on

working Homelink nowI have a 2005 Tahoe and 2010 Edge that are now compatible with a 2015 LiftMaster Elite Series Model 8500 door opener.
2010 Edge seems to have the same range as the door remote that was included with the opener (2005 Tahoe have not checked yet).
Took a couple of times to 'learn' with the opener (may have done something not quite right the first time, pretty simple instructions so not sure what I messed up or if it was just some RF interference).
4 stars on value, price, & overall because I think everything is overpriced. :)Posted on
