Liftmaster 41A5034 Garage Door Opener Safety Beams (NOW 041-0136)
The LiftMaster 41A5034 are the replacement safety sensor beam infrared photo eye sensors that have a green indicator light on one side and a yellow indicator light on the other side, used on many garage door openers manufactured from 1997 to present. These garage door openers typically had a red, orange or purple learn button on the back of the garage door opener that is used to program the remotes with. The 41A5034 are the replacement sensor heads only and have a 12” wire extending from them but they DO NOT include the mounting brackets. These LiftMaster 41A5034 safety sensors are a genuine factory original part made by Chamberlain Corporation who makes the LiftMaster, Sears Craftsman, Master Mechanic, Access Master, Do-It and some of the Wayne Dalton garage door openers. A good sign that the safety sensor beams are bad provided that they are aligned is when you can open the garage door opener normally but not close it unless you hold down the wall button until the door is fully closed. The LiftMaster 41A5034 replacement safety beam kit includes one sending head, one receiving head, four easy connect connectors, 2 wing nuts with carriage bolts and instructions.
These beams have a green LED indicator on side and a yellow LED indicator on the other side.
NOTE: If your beams have a green indicator on both sides you need the LiftMaster part number 41A4373A available in our store
NOTE: The model number of the garage door opener will typically be under the light cover.

They workedThe safety beams fixed the problem with my garage door. They appear to be good quality. My only problem was with the installation. The connectors for the wires were difficult to use properly. I used my usual screw wire connectors that worked like a charm.

Great product and knowledgeable staffWe needed replacement safety eye system for a discontinued Craftsman system. The individual spoken with was familiar with the system and recommended a product that would be a direct replacement along with the mounting brackets needed. It worked perfectly. Thanks!

Works Perfectly - Great PriceInstalled easily in a mater of minutes! The connectors are simple and easy to use. It was less than half of the price of the same part from Sears and I didn't have to deal with the impossible people at Sears. I have 8 garage door openers in service, 3 on gates the others on doors. As the units fail, I am switching to Liftmaster/Chamberlain to eliminate dealing with Sears altogether. Even if price was more instead of less, it would be worth it to avoid dealing with Sears!

Sensors great. Instructions not so great. The sensors arrived on time and work perfectly. My only complaints are with the installation instructions. I had never used the kind of wire crimper included in the box so I managed to ruin 3 of the 4 crimpers and had to use regular wire nuts. The faulty sensors I replaced had green indicator lights on both the sending and receiving units. The new sensors have green on the receiver and amber on the sender. I spent quite some time trying to figure out what I did wrong since they were not both green. Finally checked Liftmaster's website and learned that the newer units are supposed to be green and amber. It would have saved me a lot of time and aggravation if that info had been included as a note in the instructions. That being said, the sensors are working great and aside from those two things, the installation was fairly straightforward.

Why did I wait to buy?Although my sensors were both 'lit' and aligned correctly , I purchased new ones as a last resort. After months of frustration ( every time the sun shined on them ) , I would have to hold the garage, wall mounted opener, down to close the door. The car openers wouldn't work either. ( only when the sun was bright )
I even made a couple of shade covers...to no avail.
So , Finally, as a last resort, I bought new sensors. Why did I wait so long?
Yep....problem gone !Posted on
