Genie Replacement RemoteI needed a set of replacement remotes for my old (circa 1984) Genie SP-129 garage door openers. My openers have the 12-bit dip switch settings for setting the opener codes, so many of the generic opener replacement products on the market will not work on my opener. The Genie GM3T-BX remotes that I purchased from Preferred Doors were an exact replacement for my older remotes. They came with the flexibility of being backwards compatible to the old-style dip switches, and forward compatible to the newer Intellicode 1 & 2 openers (so if I have to replace an opener in the future, my remotes should work with the newer opener). I especially like the fact that the Genie GM3T-BX has 3-buttons for programming 3 different doors. Previously, I had to keep a separate remote for each door. I am very pleased with my purchase.

RecommendOrdered remote to replace original remote that would not consistently open garage door. It was good price, and delivered in the communicated time frame. We program both doors within five minutes and it opens door at good range consistently. I like that it is more compact than the original opener. I recommend purchase to others.

Happy with my purchaseI was searching for a replacement remote for a mid 1980's Genie remote that finally broke. gadgetreplaces the old garage door opener- the original genie door opener finally quit after 25 years. This new works great and it is much smaller more handier to use and it has a very good distance to open the door the same as my old one where it can open at the end of my drive way which is more than a 100 ft. So far I love it.

Good Replacement for old pre 1985 Garage Door openerMy Genie Garage Door opener does not have the learn button due to the pre-technology 1985. It has a manual 12 diode code. I asked thier online help to find the correct remote and they send me what I needed. I bought 2 and after some manual code set up. it works like a champ. be sure to read the instructions that come with it. there are a couple of steps that must be followied (not hard). but if you do not follow them the set up will not work.

very pleasedI have two door openers - one is a digital Intellicode and the other is an older analog model using dip switches. I was able to program both units on both doors first try in about 15 minutes. Retuned my single $35 unit form Lowe's where I was mislead by a salesman.

Not bad - But could be betterOverall - I gave it 5 stars. Cheap price. It programs quickly and easily. 'when new' it works like a gem. Unfortunately, like any other cheaply made product these days it (the opener) gets less sensitive over time even when up close to the garage door - repeatedly pressing the button to make it operate. Eventually - it just does't work. This was a replacement of the same opener at the 2 year mark. So - at like $10 bucks every 2 years …can I complain? Probably not. But, I'd rather pay $50-$70 and have a great opener that works for 20 years.

Great Replacement RemoteGot this to replace an antiquated "AT95" Genie remote. Upon receipt, copied the dip switch settings on the motor, set the unused switches to - 0 - (per instructions), selected the "D" option inside the new remote and . . . . . . I now have a new WORKING garage door remote. Set up was a breeze and if for some reason, upon following instructions, it doesn't work for you the first time, experiment with the A-B-C-D options, make sure the remote dip switch settings are EXACTLY as seen in your garage door motor and set the unused switches to the NEUTRAL / ZERO (center) setting. Also, make sure before you purchase this remote that it is IN FACT compatible to the remote you are replacing (read everything CAREFULLY). If you follow this information, you WILL be a happy camper!

Genie GM3T-BX Genie Master Universal - Great!I bought this as a replacement for the discontinued Genie GT90-1 with 12 switches and without the newer rolling code technology. The instructions were very complete (for several types of remotes) and easy to follow. Within a few minutes I had a new, working remote control for my garage door. The range is as good or maybe a little better than the original -- can open the door from a house away. (Look on the packing slip for information about why the range may be less than expected and how to troubleshoot it.) My only concern now is how long the battery will last. The original remote uses a 9-volt battery. The new one uses a 2032 "coin" cell. This is my second purchase -- so I'll have two to provide the new homeowners, if and when needed.

Good DealI have an old (1999) door opener and the remotes were about as old. Finally one failed to work and I searched high and low to find a replacement.
I finally corresponded the Genie Corp and they gave me a recommended replacement (this one). This "new" one seems a lot more rugged and well built compared to the old plastic ones I was using. I just might order a couple more and replace all of the remotes.Posted on

Overall goodWorked (almost) right out of the box. The instructions were a bit complex but after careful reading and pressing the right internal "button" (which did not look like a button) the remote worked fine. The only minor observation I would make is its limited range; my car has to be right AT the garage door for it to work, whereas with my other car / remote / garage door, I can open it from the street 40 feet from my house. But hey, it works, and that is the main thing.

Just make sure the codes in the battery compartment matches the instructions or a old remote and it will be a breeze. Hit the button on the unit once hit the button you want on the remote 3 time and its done could not be easier.
