Top notch product and serviceIn the middle of a snow storm and power outage, I disengaged the carriage assembly to be able to manually open the garage door only to have the carriage assembly break. A quick login to Preferred Doors and a few minutes later my part was on the way. The part arrived in two days and I had the door working in no time flat with a genuine Genie part.

PerfectThe old one wore out, how did I know, the door had opened about three feet then crashed to the floor. The teeth that ride the ridges of gear drive had

Perfect in every wayI had a heck of a time figuring out what part number I needed for the Genie 4000 series door opener. The manual did NOT list any part number. There must have been 30 different carriage part numbers for 30 different Genie models at various sites online, but no 4000 series. Finally I found a site that claimed this part replaces ALL Genie screw drive carriage assemblies. Don't know if that's true, but it was a perfect match for my worn out carriage. Another article said the carriage is only supposed to last about 6 years, so I guess I should be happy I got 13 years out of my original carriage. Replacement only took a few minutes to release the door end of the opener, slip off the old carriage, slip on the new one, being sure to fully lubricate the screw drive and the new one. Works perfectly, delivery was fast, and the price was most reasonble. I had wasted much time searching online and in big name home repair stores before making this purchase. Couldn't be happier with Preferred Doors.

Worked well for my project.I needed a free floating carriage for a suspended fluorescent light fixture attached to the screw drive on my genie door opener. Removal of the springs,pivot pin and jaws allowed the carriage to float on the drive track. Result, the light remains level when the door is open, some where in between or closed.
