Delivered in 3 days in good shape but USPS delivery time is not always consistent. Handles a fairly large door (mine is 12 ft high by 18 ft wide). 3:1 is a good ratio. Needs to have at least 2.5" of shaft length beyond the door brace that screws into the wall in order to mount the pulley properly next to the door brace (used two 5/16" lag screws). My garage door shaft is 1" hollow so I tapped in a pipe fitting that was reduced to fit with a grinder as a precaution to crushing. I'm satisfied with this purchase.

I ordered one of these (200R 3:1 hoist) for a 12 ft wide x 12 ft tall insulated door that has 3 double pane glass panels in one section. The door wasn't hard to lift by hand before but it was hard to get it open all the way. Now it is very easy to open and secure at any height I want.

Installation: I had asked my door installer to leave me enough shaft sticking on one end so I could mount a shaft type electric opener. That was 5 years ago. Now the electric ones are really expensive for the occasional use I have at this door. The shaft was a hollow 1" shaft without a woodruff key but the large gear has 2 set screws and they tightened down securely without crushing the shaft. I mounted the large sprocket onto the door's shaft, hung the roller chain on that sprocket and aligned the sprocket on the main assembly with large one and bolted it down to a piece of 2x6 I had fastened to the wall. I spend about 90 minutes including cutting, drilling, and mounting a section of 2x6 to the wall.

Shipping: Not so good. Expect 2-3 weeks delivery. I ordered 2 more after mounting the first one and that order also took awhile. You may receive an email on the day you ordered that it's been shipped, but in my case they had only created a tracking number / label at that time. One of the two on the second order had a 3" hole worn in the side of the box. When UPS left it on my porch, some of the hand chain was hanging out of the hole. Both boxes had holes. One was missing one of the two 5/16" set screws and the woodroof key that I didn't need. It was easier to pickup another 5/16 set screw at my Ace Hardware store than to wait on the seller to remedy that. The parts are shipped loose in the box except a couple of small pieces and the roller chain are in their own bag. But the main assembly and large sprocket wreck havoc on the those little bags and the box. So packaging really needs to be improved.

I'd recommend this to anyone who has a tall residential style door and doesn't need to open it every time they come home in their car. It can be mounted on either end of the door. Just be sure you have enough shaft sticking out for the roller chain to clear the rails of the door.
