The 41C4220A Gear and Sprocket Assembly is the preferred way to "refurbish" your garage door opener as it quickly replaces all of the common wear parts in the opener drive system. This kit includes all of the 41A2817 Drive / Worm Gear kit, and is easier to install because you do not have to disassemble the output shaft assembly - the spur gear is already mounted on the new output shaft. The 41C4220A assembly also includes the worm gear, and a new bushing under the sprocket which is another common wear item. Fits most chain drive openers manufactured since 1984 by: Liftmaster, Chamberlain, Sears Craftsman, Master Mechanic, and some units from Wayne Dalton. Replaces part 41A2827. Note: Also fits openers labeled under various names such as: Sears Craftsman, True Value, Master Mechanic, and some units from Wayne Dalton. Liftmaster also "private labeled" openers for regional suppliers and dealers - usually it is very easy to see that it is a Liftmaster opener with a different name on the cover. Compare your parts to the picture above. The Large Gear is 2 3/4" x 1/2" wide, with a 1/2" bore. The worm gear is 1 1/8" OD, and the teeth are 1 1/4" wide (all sizes are approximate).

OEM part at reasonable price. Quick service.Great todo business with. Excellent communications. I was expecting a cheap China knock off. Got Genuine OEM part! Fairly good instructions. One step omitted in the written instructions and the videos (NOT YOURS). There is one hole that MUST line up or you will NOT be able to install the "Chain Spreader". At this point intime, if you have installed the part, you'll have to go almost back to square 1. Make sure the hole in the plate lines up with the hole for the screw to anchor the Chain Spreader. Watch for avoiding a flip or twist in the chain. All installed and working well.

Craftsman 1/2 hp Screw Drive Repair KitWorks GREAT ! Bushing for the big drive gear needs to be removed with thin blade screwdriver. Glad kit came with new because it broke. The new bushing needs to be pressed in using channel locks a little at a time.

Great buyGreat service on shipping the item asap. Install instructions were easy to follow. One minor problem: the set screws on the clamping collar are too long (shown as 4.2a in the instructions). They stick out far enough that they will not allow the shaft to rotate. A clearance problem. I just used the original collar and set screws, they work fine. My unit is a type 1 chain drive. Someone should notify the kit manufacture about the set screws. I would buy this gear and sprocket kit again and I would buy it from preferreddoors again.

Replaceing sprocket assemblyShipping was quick. Easy to replace the old one. Perfect fit. Took less than a 1/2 hr. I replace the opener with a Chamberlain belt drive, which I love. So Quiet. Was going to throw the old Craftsman away but for the price of the part I decided to repair it for a spare. What made it so easy is that I had it on a bench. Might be kind of tough getting one screw back in with it mounted on the ceiling.

Grerat productTo my surprise the order process was quick and professional. The product arrived in days when weeks were advised as possible. Instructions were written well and the product went into place without any problems other than the top plate that attaches to the base assembly has a hole for the plastic chain and gear assembly cover, make sure that this hole is in the correct alignment or you will have to re-due this portion of the task. I would recommend this product and the providing Company to all who require replacement parts.

Worked as advertisedIncluded all the parts and instructions necessary to fix my garage door opener. It is a 10+ year old LIftMaster 1/2 HP Professional Series, or something along those lines. Total repair time under 3 hours, but part of that time was spent fiddling with the chain. Only challenging part of the actual part swap was getting the old parts off the end of the motor shaft so I could replace the worm gear, but it was all technically straightforward.

Good repair kitEverything needed was in the package, and it is good to be able to make repairs rather than replacement. I had a professional do the actual repair, so it only took 30 minutes.
